KUKA Robotics has enhanced its reputation in the medical technology sector with the KR QUANTEC robot now at the core of the ARTIS pheno imaging system. This advanced X-ray-based system, developed in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers, is designed for use in interventional, cardiac, and various surgical disciplines.
The ARTIS pheno system is making strides in medical procedures such as the evaluation of vascular diseases, heart valve repair, and complex orthopedic surgeries involving the spine and pelvis. Central to its functionality is the KR QUANTEC robot, which precisely maneuvers the C-arm equipped with an X-ray source and image converter around the patient. This robotic guidance ensures high precision and safety during procedures.
Currently, the innovative ARTIS pheno system is operational in over 550 clinics globally, with its earlier versions accounting for more than 1,200 installations worldwide. This widespread adoption underscores the reliability and effectiveness of KUKA’s robotic technology in the medical field.
KUKA Robotics, a leader in industrial automation, continues to push boundaries with its state-of-the-art solutions across various sectors, including manufacturing and healthcare. By integrating robotics with medical imaging, KUKA and Siemens Healthineers are setting new standards for patient care and procedural accuracy.
The collaboration demonstrates a commitment to advancing technology in medical disciplines, reinforcing the importance of robotics in improving healthcare outcomes.
