The announcement was made in the presence of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, City Colleges of Chicago Chancellor Juan Salgado, and leaders from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and Illinois EDC.
The new facility aims to bolster research and development, speed up advancements in additive manufacturing and automation technologies, and enhance dual-use and defense-related production. Located in Illinois, AMIC is set to play a crucial role in reinforcing the state’s position as a national hub for industrial technology and innovation.
In addition to technological advancements, DMG MORI emphasised its commitment to workforce development. The company is collaborating with City Colleges of Chicago to prepare future talent for the advanced manufacturing sector through various educational initiatives.
