ParaNorman Remastered with Autodesk Technology

LAIKA Studios has unveiled a newly remastered version of its acclaimed film, ParaNorman, just in time for its 13th anniversary. The film is re-released in 3D, showcasing the artistic talents of LAIKA’s team and the cutting-edge technology of Autodesk.

Dan Pascall, Marketing Production Manager at LAIKA Studios, shared insights into the creative process behind the remastering. The team utilized Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Inventor to breathe new life into this beloved animated feature. By employing these powerful software tools, the studio’s producers, puppeteers, and animators enhanced the film’s visual effects, bringing a fresh dimension to its characters and scenes.

Autodesk Maya, a staple in 3D animation, was instrumental in refining the intricate details of character models and environments. Meanwhile, Autodesk Inventor facilitated the precision design work necessary for the film’s intricate puppet and set construction. ParaNorman’s re-release will be showcased in select theaters until November 6th, allowing audiences to experience the supernatural adventure in newly enhanced 3D.
