Since their launch the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (NAMRC) has thrived helping companies solve their manufacturing problems across the energy sector and in other quality-critical industries.

New R&D facilities in Birkenhead and Derby have expanded their capabilities into other technology areas of vital importance to the UK nuclear industry. They have worked with around 1,000 businesses, including many SMEs, to help them to become more competitive.

Part of the Catapult network NAMRC looked to the marketplace sourcing the very best in educational storage systems, office furniture, workshop storage and tooling solutions.

Polstore was an ideal selection due to their track record within the Educational Sector – already working with leading Further Education Institutes they offered a wide and flexible range of educational storage solutions and products in the UK. Even more ideal they were able to redesign standard products creating a clever mobile and dynamic storage solution set up.

In brief Polstore supported 2 workshops and 2 office work spaces with the installation of their storage equipment. With the supply of industrial static and mobile workbenches, individual U-shaped work areas were created. Throughout the storage system was a mix of drawer storage cabinets and cupboards. The office areas were fitted out with stylish furniture matching the NAMRC corporate colours.

Another key resource Polstore offer with larger workshop and office installations is complete management and project execution. Following their 8-stage plan of work from strategic definition to hand over and use, the NAMRC were able to take occupancy on time and in budget.

Since completion in 2018 NAMRC have reviewed their security controls and personnel access. With the implementation of Polstore’s Smart Key Solution eLOQ into their cabinets and cupboards they can now create audit trails of key usage, the ability to disable lost keys and electronic re-keying and scheduling.
