TIMTOS 2025 Concludes with Record International Attendance and Smart Manufacturing Innovations

The Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS 2025), jointly organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), wrapped up with a strong international presence, welcoming 4,163 overseas buyers from 90 countries—a 5.1% increase compared to the previous edition.

Held over six days across three major Taipei venues, the event hosted more than 1,000 exhibitors and spanned 6,100 booths, showcasing the latest in precision engineering and smart manufacturing. The top five buyer countries were India, Japan, China, South Korea, and Malaysia, with procurement delegations from multiple global markets including Vietnam, Brazil, and Mexico.

This year’s theme, “Integrate to Innovate,” focused on six key industry trends: precision machine tools, core components, automation and smart manufacturing, digital twin integration, additive manufacturing (AM), and cross-sector applications. Innovations from Taiwan’s advanced machinery sector were highlighted for their impact across aerospace, automotive, medical, and consumer markets.

A standout at TIMTOS 2025 was the debut of the ‘AI, Control Systems and Smart Manufacturing’ area, where cutting-edge technologies like harmonic reducers and joint modules for humanoid robots were displayed, underlining Taiwan’s growing role in the global robot supply chain.

Another highlight was the new ‘Innovation Technology’ exhibit area, showcasing AI integration, manufacturing system automation, laser processing, circular economy applications, and energy-efficient solutions.

The show received praise from leading global machine tool and control system manufacturers, who spotlighted advancements in digital twin technology and AI-driven automation—both pivotal in enhancing production efficiency and sustainability.

Face-to-face networking remained a core strength of the show, with companies securing substantial deals across sectors such as aerospace, semiconductors, and renewable energy. For example, major Taiwanese machine builders reported strong orders spanning hydrogen energy systems and medical devices, while others expanded their offerings into semiconductor-related technologies through ultrasonic machining and additive manufacturing.

Procurement and matchmaking sessions organized during the show facilitated 315 meetings between 75 international buyers and 102 Taiwanese companies, representing countries like the USA, France, India, and Israel. Dedicated networking for the cutting tool sector also brought together buyers from 14 countries, with some exhibitors reporting a 70% order placement success rate.

The event also introduced two new pavilions: the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion and the Taiwan Patent Go Pavilion, which attracted considerable attention from international visitors and demonstrated Taiwan’s leadership in smart machinery and cross-industry innovation.

Forums added an extra dimension to the show, with high-profile keynote speakers including Akihiro Teramachi, Chairman and CEO of THK, and Haw Chen, CEO of Techman Robot, who showcased AI-powered collaborative robotics. The sessions explored the integration of AI and automation in achieving smarter, more sustainable production lines.

On the media side, the team from MTDCNC was on-site throughout the show, filming over 30 exclusive videos covering the latest technologies and product launches. These videos will be available soon across MTDCNC’s social media platforms, YouTube channel, and website, offering in-depth insights and behind-the-scenes coverage from the show floor.

In the exhibition halls, standout machines included high-precision five-axis CNC machining centers, dual-spindle vertical grinders, and advanced gear profiling systems. These machines, ideal for industries like aerospace and medical, featured high-speed spindles, AI-supported controls, and simultaneous machining capabilities—demonstrating Taiwan’s commitment to driving global manufacturing forward.

As one of the premier manufacturing trade shows in Asia, TIMTOS 2025 successfully reinforced Taiwan’s position as a hub for innovation in machine tools, automation, and smart manufacturing, further strengthening its role in shaping the future of global industry.
