Mazak Showcases Advanced Manufacturing Solutions and Live Demonstrations at IMTS 2024

Mazak Corporation is excited to present its latest technologies for job shops, multitasking, advanced manufacturing, and high-production environments at IMTS 2024. The booth features live demonstrations of real-world, industry-specific parts processing, providing attendees with a firsthand look at Mazak’s innovative solutions.

Mazak’s booth will highlight a diverse range of machines from its Ez, Syncrex, Quick Turn, NEO, and Integrex series. Visitors can also explore Mazak’s recent advancements in automation and digital technology, along with Mazak MPower Complete Customer Care and Mazak Capital Equipment Financing (MCEF) options for streamlined equipment financing.

Expanding its Ez Series, Mazak introduces the 50-taper VC-Ez 32 with a 32″ Y-axis and the new five-axis VC-Ez 20X, both showcased in the job shop area. The VC-Ez 32/50 vertical machining center (VMC) is configurable with a full range of options to meet various production needs and features the Mazatrol SmoothEz CNC, offering both Mazatrol conversational and EIA/ISO G-code programming capabilities.

The Quick Turn 250MSY CNC turning center, designed to reduce production lead times and costs, will also be featured. This machine provides milling and Y-axis capabilities, a direct-drive turret, a rotary tool milling spindle, and a second turning spindle for comprehensive “done in one” part processing.

Mazak’s booth will also demonstrate multitasking capabilities with the Integrex i-100H ST multitasking center featuring a gantry loader. This machine combines the functions of a high-powered turning center and a full-function machining center, boosting productivity by allowing simultaneous machining with two tools.

The advanced manufacturing area will display several next-generation NEO Series machines, including the HQR-200MSY NEO multitasking turning center. This machine features two spindles and three turrets, enabling high-volume throughput in a single setup and handling 4″ bar stock with its main spindle and up to 76 mm diameters with its second spindle.

For automated lights-out production, attendees can view the HCN-4000 NEO horizontal machining center (HMC) with a Palletech system. This machine is designed to enhance productivity for various part materials, with improvements in stability, accuracy, power consumption, and maintenance.

Mazak’s high-production solutions will include custom models from the Syncrex Series Swiss-type machines, with barstock capacities ranging from 10 to 38 mm.

“Today’s manufacturers face challenges such as a lack of skilled labor, surging production demands, and an ever-changing economy,” says Dan Janka, President of Mazak Corp. “Mazak has always been at the forefront of IMTS and the manufacturing world, providing shops the opportunity to learn more, do more, and make more despite industry headwinds.”

The exhibit will also feature Mazak’s Ez Loader and other automation solutions designed to enhance employee skills and address labor shortages. The Ez Loader is a standalone, plug-and-play cobot equipped with a pallet, programmable logic controller, and integration equipment. Mazak Automation Solutions experts will be available to discuss efficient integration of these systems into production.

Additionally, Mazak will showcase its development and integration of artificial intelligence and smart features in machine tool technology. Digital solutions like the Spindle Health Monitoring System use real-time continuous data to compile machine profiles and assess performance, proactively diagnosing pre-failure conditions to prevent downtime.

Every Mazak machine is supported by Mazak MPower Complete Customer Care, ensuring comprehensive support for all customers.
