MMC Hardmetal UK to Showcase Innovation, Strategy and Sustainability at GROB Technology Day

MMC Hardmetal UK is set to deliver a compelling presentation of its latest tooling innovations, strategic developments, and sustainability initiatives at the GROB Technology Day on June 25th in Stratford-upon-Avon.

As part of a packed agenda featuring multiple high-level presentations and live demonstrations, MMC Hardmetal UK will highlight several key technologies designed to improve productivity and reduce operational costs in modern manufacturing environments.

Trochoidal Milling in Action

One of the day’s standout demonstrations will focus on trochoidal milling using Mitsubishi Materials’ cutting-edge VQCS chipbreaker type endmills. These tools, designed with advanced chipbreaker geometry, provide enhanced chip control and evacuation—key to improving tool life, reliability, and overall cost-efficiency. Attendees will see first-hand how this geometry contributes to improved machining performance during a live cutting demonstration.

Live Demo: iMX Changeable Head Milling Tools

Also on show will be Mitsubishi’s iMX series, an innovative range of changeable carbide milling heads. Designed for high precision and durability, the iMX range features a robust steel thread insert, offering exceptional clamping strength. The double face and taper contact between head and shank ensures high repeatability and positioning accuracy. Visitors will be able to observe the iMX system in live cutting applications and gain a deeper understanding of its wide range of geometries and use cases.

Sustainability and Strategic Services

MMC Hardmetal UK will also spotlight Mitsubishi Materials’ growing commitment to sustainability. A key part of this is the recent acquisition of UFP, a leading Italian reconditioning and custom tool solution provider. This move strengthens Mitsubishi’s European capabilities in tool reconditioning, recoating, and tailored tooling solutions, addressing growing demand for faster turnaround and more sustainable operations.

UK-based representatives will be on hand to discuss how local customers can access these enhanced services, ensuring they benefit from cost-effective, efficient, and reliable tool management.

Carbide Recycling Initiative

In addition, MMC Hardmetal UK will present its recently launched carbide recycling campaign. This initiative enables customers to return used carbide tooling for financial reward by the kilo. The collected carbide is then recycled by a Mitsubishi subsidiary in Japan, which uses state-of-the-art technology to reclaim and reuse the material in the production of new, high-quality tools. This campaign supports circular economy goals while offering tangible value back to customers.

Meet the Experts

Throughout the day, MMC Hardmetal UK’s management and engineering teams will be available to share their expertise, offer technical advice, and engage directly with visitors on how Mitsubishi Materials can support their production goals.

📍 Don’t miss the opportunity to experience these innovations live at GROB Technology Day, June 25th, Stratford-upon-Avon.
