FANUC UK Appoints Regional Business Development Manager to Boost Automation Across the North of England and Scotland

FANUC UK has reaffirmed its commitment to driving innovation in British manufacturing with the appointment of Tony Bentham as Business Development Manager for the North of England and Scotland. This strategic move strengthens FANUC’s support for businesses and academic institutions across the region, helping them adopt cutting-edge robotics to enhance productivity, sustainability, and profitability.

With a career spanning more than 36 years at FANUC UK, specialising in robotics and customer service, Tony Bentham brings a deep well of knowledge and experience to the role. His expertise in industrial automation and his long-standing commitment to customer success make him ideally suited to support manufacturers as they navigate challenges such as rising energy costs, labour shortages, and growing global competition.

In his new position, Mr Bentham will work closely with manufacturers, engineering firms, universities, and research institutions to unlock the potential of smart automation solutions. His mission is to promote innovation, support research and development, and foster competitive growth through the strategic application of robotics and intelligent technologies.

“The need for automation is more crucial than ever,” said Tony Bentham. “Yet many businesses in the North of England and Scotland still lack a clear understanding of the benefits and long-term returns robotics can offer. Others have made initial steps into automation but need expert guidance to progress further and fully capitalise on the technology.”

“Having a dedicated local expert means I can help bridge that gap – offering tailored advice to help businesses optimise existing systems and identify new opportunities where automation can deliver real value.”

Mr Bentham’s appointment is part of FANUC UK’s broader strategy to provide regionalised support and hands-on expertise, helping firms of all sizes future-proof their operations. His role will include site visits, consultation, and technical support to ensure that businesses are not only adopting automation but doing so in a way that delivers tangible, long-term impact.

Businesses and institutions across the North of England and Scotland interested in exploring how automation can support their growth are invited to contact Tony Bentham directly at: tony.bentham@fanuc.eu.
