Citizen Machinery UK Launches Third-Generation Cincom L20-LFV at Special Bushey Event

Citizen Machinery UK Ltd recently hosted a focused customer event at its Bushey headquarters to unveil the third-generation Cincom L20-LFV sliding-head lathe — a more productive and eco-friendly evolution of its market-leading predecessor.

This latest generation of the L20-LFV, now available in four variants, is engineered to deliver higher efficiency and sustainability. Three of the models were shown under power, machining real-world components representative of customer applications, rather than simple demo parts. A second-generation L20 was also displayed for direct comparison, highlighting the significant technological and performance advancements in the new lineup.

Although the event was smaller in scale than Citizen Machinery’s traditional open houses — which typically draw large crowds — it proved highly effective. Around 60 visitors from 30 customer companies attended, and the event generated four machine orders worth approximately £700,000. Additional sales discussions are underway, driven by the competitive offers presented on both new and existing models during the launch.

Unlike the company’s usual three-day October Open House, which includes representation from over two dozen supplier partners, the Bushey event featured only one external participant: Cobots Online. The automation specialist demonstrated collaborative robot (cobot) integration on a Miyano BNA-42SY5 fixed-head lathe, showcasing how automation can further enhance productivity and efficiency on the shop floor.

The Bushey launch also offered an exclusive preview of a prototype: the Miyano BNX-51MSY2LFV, a forthcoming fixed-head lathe set to be officially launched later this year. This machine will headline Citizen Machinery’s full-scale Open House from 7–9 October at its Turning Centre of Excellence in Brierley Hill, where additional new models and technologies will also be introduced.

Commenting on the event’s success, Citizen Machinery UK expressed confidence in the market’s positive response to the third-generation L20-LFV and its broader product roadmap. With strong sales momentum in April and continued customer engagement, the company is well-positioned to support UK and Irish manufacturers seeking cutting-edge turning solutions.
