Grip-Tec’s powerful self-centering 5th Axis vice on the Speedio F600 X1 at Whitehouse Machine Tools

MTDCNC have travelled to Whitehouse Machine Tools to learn more about their collaboration with Grip-Tec 5th Axis. Jason Short from Grip-Tec shares the details on an interesting project where they’ve got an application on the Brother Speedio F600 X1, a very high torque, rigid machine tool capable of cutting any material. The solution that Grip-Tech have provided for the Brother machine includes their brand new V510X self-centering vice and zero point workholding system mounted directly to the bed. The zero point base offers multiple configuration options as well as repeatability for changing from one workholding solution to another. Jason acknowledges that the Speedio F600 X1 is a quick, robust and rigid machine, so Grip-Tec wanted to provide their most powerful, heavy-duty vice with a larger opening to best match the machine’s capabilities. Plenty of clamping force, dovetail joints, a busy spindle, and customization options, there’s a lot that this 5th Axis solution from Grip-Tec has to offer.
