From Garage Startup to a 5-Star CNC Success: The Inspiring Story of CNC Center Northeim
Some stories in manufacturing are about machines. Others are about people. This one is about both…
A factory tour that left a lasting impression. Recently, industry expert Jindra Sykora had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of SPINNER Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik GmbH during their open house event — and walked away with clear admiration for the company’s blend of value-driven engineering, European manufacturing, and practical machine tool design.
What makes Spinner stand out in an industry filled with global options? According to Sykora, it’s not just about the machines themselves, but the entire environment and engineering ethos behind them.
“It’s awesome to see that good value and quality machines for general work can still be very successfully built mostly in Europe,” he remarked.
From the very beginning of the tour, one detail immediately caught his attention: the architecture of the facility. With large-scale windows flooding the workspace with natural light, the factory floor felt open, modern, and connected to the outside world — a testament to Axel Spinner’s commitment to a healthy and productive working environment.
Spinner is known for its flexible and innovative machine concepts. Their lathe platforms, for example, feature multiple turret configurations – giving users a serious productivity boost when the right application is matched. Sykora noted how thoughtfully designed the machine access and visibility were, especially from a process development perspective.
But what stood out most, particularly for those in precision and hard-material machining, was Spinner’s Microturn lineup. Designed for ultra-precise applications, these machines combine:
“Having these capabilities — precision turning, 5-axis milling, and grinding — all in the same compact footprint is really quite something,” Sykora commented.
A special thanks went out to Petr Pustina and REXIM, Spinner’s trusted partner in the region, for organizing the visit and tour.
As manufacturers around Europe continue to seek high-performance, compact, and versatile solutions, Spinner remains a compelling choice — offering machines designed and built in Europe, by engineers who understand what machinists and manufacturers really need.
