When you think of HAIMER what’s the first thing that springs to mind? High quality tool holders? A few months ago, as recommended by their tooling supplier, Smith’s decided to try a HAIMER 12mm solid carbide end mill, cutting aluminium on their Hermle C 400 5 Axis Machining Centre. Two months on the HAIMER end mill is still running and producing the same stunning results it gave on day one. Used in conjunction with a HAIMER tool holder the combination are giving great feeds & speeds, tool life, surface finish and accuracy. Robert has been in the engineering business some 40 years and in that time has learnt some hard lessons, but says if you buy a good machine a good tool holder and a good tool those problems just disappear. With that in mind Smith’s Hermle 5 Axis mills and HAIMER tool holders and end mills have helped them produce better quality parts quicker with no headaches.
