The MTDCNC team visited West Special Fasteners, a long-established manufacturer based in Dronfield, Derbyshire, known for producing high-quality fasteners in stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, and exotic alloys. With decades of experience, the company supplies critical industries including oil and gas, petrochemical, nuclear, and marine, where performance and reliability are essential.

During our visit, we sat down with Rob Hewitt and Simon Grass-Smith to learn more about their latest investment – a brand-new AS-200L turning centre supplied by ETG UK & Ireland. This addition to their machine shop represents a big step forward in capability, combining speed, accuracy, and flexibility to handle the complex requirements of duplex and titanium machining.

The team explained how the AS-200L has already made a difference on the shop floor.
