Celebrating the Power of Female Engineers and Apprentices in UK Manufacturing

MTDCNC has captured a powerful and inspiring story highlighting the impact of apprenticeships and the growing influence of female engineers within UK manufacturing, following a recent visit to ETG UK & Ireland.

The visit, supported by Scott Elsmere and Martin Doyle, focused on how apprenticeships are shaping not only individual careers but also the long-term future of British manufacturing.

During the day, Chloe Reeve met with two UK engineering businesses that are actively investing in talent development.

Toolrite Limited was represented by Josh and Katie, an apprentice who has been with the company for six months. Katie shared her journey into engineering, demonstrating the hard work, determination, and commitment required to succeed early in a manufacturing career.

The second visit featured GoTools Ltd, represented by Andy and Kacey. With six years at the company, Kacey has excelled in her role and has received industry recognition and awards for her contribution to engineering, serving as a strong example of long-term career progression within the sector.

The discussions were led by Alison Green BA, with filming and production support from MTDCNC team members Joe Amos and Chris Thomas, who captured the conversations and behind-the-scenes insight throughout the day.
