MTDCNC’s Tony Gunn finds himself with Logan Bartkovich from EMAG discussing the merits of the EMAG ELC 250 DUO Laser Cleaning & Welding Machine. This machine can simultaneously clean and weld parts or if connected to an external cleaning cell can weld two parts at the same time. The benefits of EMAG laser welding are quicker cycle times, greater repeatability and higher quality. With a fully automated conveyer system parts are delivered to the machine, cleaned, welded, measured and ultra sonically tested for defects in the weld. They then come off the other end as a finished part and this can run 24/7. This machine also runs EMAG’s Laser Weld Monitoring System which tells you when maintenance is required on the welding head and monitor quality control of the weld.
