GWR Fasteners – Screwing The World Together- Born essentially from a garden shed, the company now comprises a new 10,000 sq ft facility with the latest machine tool technology.
Part of this technology includes their latest acquisition, a Citizen Miyano BNE 51. With twin spindle and twin turret this machine is able to balance turn, balance mill and also do superimposed machining. Tying this in with the Mitsubishi controls, Alcart Wizard plus loads more they have reduced cycle time by 2 thirds.
But the quality and efficiency of the machine has meant that they are having problems – because of the speed of manufacturing they are having issues dealing with all the components and all the swarf that goes with it! But that’s not a bad problem to have!
