In this video, Joao Goncalves, explains how Microsystems guarantee both the quality and the accuracy of the tools they make for medical industry using Alicona measurement technology for geometric and surface finish verification.
Microsystems main products are microfluidic device and contact lens moulds for the medical industry. Before Alicona they used CMM but the limitations of this became clear at the low to submicron range plus microscopes were used to view the moulds but this did not provide any measurement capability.
Now using an Alicona InfiniteFocus system they can measure their high precision mould tools in the sub-micron range along with Surface Finish. In the video Joao explains how Alicona has allowed them to move into a new level of engineering providing ultimate quality and confidence for Microsystems and their customers.
3D CAD data, provided by the Alicona process, is supplied to customers to verify the accuracy of the tools they supply. He also states how easy the system is to use and that to deliver quality you need the best which they now have.
