DN Solutions and RoboJob Automation Deliver Lights-Out Manufacturing Success at Microtherm

Netherlands – Automation continues to play a critical role in helping manufacturers overcome capacity challenges, improve productivity, and maximise machine utilisation, and plastics specialist Microtherm | Groots in kunststof is a perfect example of this transformation in action.
As part of a three-day road trip across the Netherlands with DN Solutions Europe and Dormac CNC Solutions, MTDCNC visited Microtherm to see first-hand how the company is leveraging advanced manufacturing technology to drive efficiency and growth.
A recent investment in a DN Solutions Global DVF 5000 five-axis machining centre, integrated with a 28-pallet RoboJob automation tower, has significantly enhanced the company’s production capabilities. The combination of high-performance five-axis machining and automated pallet handling allows the machine to continue producing components long after operators have left the shop floor, creating a true lights-out manufacturing environment.
The result is increased spindle uptime, improved productivity, and greater manufacturing flexibility, enabling Microtherm to meet growing customer demand while making the most of available resources.
For manufacturers facing skills shortages, labour constraints, or increasing production requirements, the project demonstrates how automation can provide a practical and effective solution. By extending productive machining hours beyond the traditional working day, businesses can increase output, improve profitability, and accelerate return on investment.
