FANUC India Pvt Ltd has announced the appointment of Toshiyuki Suzuki as its new President and CEO, marking a significant leadership transition aimed at accelerating the adoption of industrial automation across India. Suzuki succeeds Yuki Kita, whose tenure from 2023 to 2026 played a key role in expanding the company’s industrial and academic presence across the country.

Suzuki takes charge at a time when India is rapidly emerging as a global manufacturing hub, with increasing demand for advanced automation technologies. His leadership will focus on expanding FANUC’s reach beyond large enterprises and into the broader manufacturing ecosystem, including small and medium-sized businesses.

A central pillar of Suzuki’s vision is the transformation of FANUC India’s regional offices into Advanced Technology Development Centers. These centres are expected to function as innovation hubs where manufacturers can conduct real-world proof-of-concept testing for complex automation solutions before full-scale implementation. This approach is designed to reduce risk, improve efficiency, and accelerate the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies.

Another key focus area is strengthening the company’s service infrastructure. FANUC India plans to expand its support network deeper into Tier-2 and Tier-3 industrial clusters, ensuring faster response times and improved access to technical expertise and spare parts. This initiative aims to maximise uptime for customers, a critical factor in modern, high-efficiency manufacturing environments.

Suzuki is also prioritising the democratisation of automation, particularly for small and medium enterprises. By offering flexible, space-efficient solutions such as robotics and collaborative robots, FANUC aims to make advanced manufacturing technologies more accessible to smaller players, enabling them to compete more effectively in global markets.

In addition, the company is set to accelerate the adoption of Industrial Internet of Things technologies. By integrating data analytics and smart connectivity into manufacturing operations, FANUC seeks to enhance shop floor intelligence, improve decision-making, and drive productivity gains across industries.

Speaking on his appointment, Suzuki emphasised that India’s industrial sector is at a pivotal stage of transformation. He highlighted the importance of extending automation not only to large-scale industries but also to regional MSMEs, while leveraging FANUC’s existing network of technical centres and service capabilities to support innovation and operational excellence.

Overall, the leadership transition signals FANUC India’s renewed focus on building a digitally enabled, automation-driven manufacturing ecosystem. With a strategy centred on innovation, accessibility, and service excellence, the company is well positioned to play a key role in shaping the future of manufacturing in India.
