Fiem Industries strengthens R&D with advanced EMI/EMC testing lab in Gurugram!
Fiem Industries Limited has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing laboratory at its R&D–Electronics Innovation Centre in Gurugram. The new facility marks a significant step in enhancing the company’s in-house engineering, validation and product development capabilities.
The laboratory has been established to support Fiem’s growing focus on advanced automotive lighting electronics for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. As lighting systems increasingly integrate LED technologies, sensors and electronic control units, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility has become critical. The new lab enables the company to conduct comprehensive EMI and EMC testing internally, ensuring compliance with stringent automotive standards and OEM requirements.
According to J.K. Jain, the commissioning of the facility represents a key milestone in building a technology-driven ecosystem for product development. By bringing testing capabilities in-house, Fiem aims to strengthen its ability to design, validate and deliver high-performance automotive lighting solutions.
One of the primary advantages of the new laboratory is the enhancement of electronic design capabilities. Engineers can now test and refine products during the development stage itself, leading to more robust and reliable designs. This integrated approach is expected to significantly reduce product development cycles, enabling faster time-to-market for new innovations.
The facility also reduces the company’s dependence on external testing agencies. This not only improves operational efficiency but also provides greater flexibility in scheduling tests and managing validation processes. As a result, Fiem can respond more quickly to customer requirements and evolving industry standards.
Another important benefit is the strengthening of backward integration within the company’s engineering and validation infrastructure. By controlling the entire testing process internally, Fiem can ensure higher levels of quality assurance and consistency. This capability enhances confidence among OEM customers, who require strict compliance with safety and performance standards.
The new EMI/EMC lab is particularly relevant in the context of modern automotive trends. With the rise of electric vehicles, connected systems and advanced driver assistance technologies, electronic components are becoming more complex and sensitive to electromagnetic disturbances. Reliable testing is essential to ensure that these systems operate without interference and maintain optimal performance.
Fiem Industries is one of India’s leading manufacturers of automotive lighting solutions, supplying to major OEMs across both two-wheeler and four-wheeler segments. The company has been consistently investing in innovation, research and advanced manufacturing to keep pace with the evolving automotive landscape.
With the commissioning of this advanced testing facility, Fiem reinforces its commitment to innovation, quality and technological excellence. The move positions the company to better serve the next generation of automotive platforms while strengthening its role in India’s growing automotive electronics ecosystem.
