The UK remains the global powerhouse of motorsport engineering.
By Tom Skubala
More than 4,500 companies make up the UK motorsport industry, supporting over 50,000 highly skilled jobs and creating one of the most advanced engineering ecosystems anywhere in the world.

And the concentration of Formula One technology here is remarkable.
Teams including McLaren, Aston Martin, Red Bull, Williams, Alpine and Mercedes all base their headquarters and operations in the UK, reinforcing the country’s position at the centre of global motorsport innovation.

Major investments continue to accelerate that growth.
Aston Martin has built a £200 million Silverstone campus, Mercedes is investing £70 million upgrading its Brackley F1 factory, Audi has opened a new technical centre in Bicester, Red Bull has developed a new engine manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, and new entrant Cadillac has established its European technical headquarters at Silverstone.
Together, these developments highlight not only the scale of the UK’s motorsport industry but also its critical role in driving advanced manufacturing, precision engineering and technological innovation worldwide.
