Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt. Ltd. has significantly strengthened its manufacturing capabilities in India with the inauguration of a new 40,000 sq. ft. production facility in Vasai, Maharashtra. The investment marks the company’s largest capacity expansion in the country to date, more than doubling its domestic production capability for hot runner systems. The new facility reinforces Yudo’s long-term commitment to the Indian market while supporting the rapidly growing demand from industries such as automotive, packaging, medical and industrial plastics. By combining advanced manufacturing with local engineering expertise, the company aims to enhance responsiveness, reduce delivery times and provide greater value to customers across India.

With the commissioning of the new plant, Yudo India has increased its monthly production capacity from approximately 180–190 hot runner systems to nearly 400 systems. This substantial increase enables the company to meet rising customer demand while improving manufacturing flexibility and production efficiency. The expansion forms part of Yudo’s broader strategy of integrating global technology with local manufacturing, allowing Indian customers to benefit from internationally recognized engineering standards supported by domestic production and technical expertise.

The Vasai facility has been developed as a fully integrated manufacturing and technology center that brings together every stage of the product development process under one roof. Design, research and development, simulation, manufacturing, assembly, testing and quality assurance are all housed within the same facility, enabling faster product development cycles and improved coordination between engineering and production teams. As part of this expansion, the Indian operation has also become one of Yudo’s nine global research and development centers, highlighting India’s growing strategic importance within the company’s worldwide operations.

Yudo currently operates 24 manufacturing facilities across more than 45 countries, and the new Vasai plant further strengthens its global manufacturing network. According to the company, the investment will enable faster response to increasing market demand, shorter lead-time expectations and the growing need for localized engineering support. By expanding manufacturing capabilities within India, Yudo can deliver customized solutions more efficiently while maintaining the global quality standards expected by its customers.

Speaking about the expansion, Vishal Agarwal, President of Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt. Ltd., said the new facility was established to address evolving customer requirements while reinforcing India’s role within Yudo’s global business. He noted that the company has been serving the Indian hot runner industry for more than 25 years and selected Vasai due to its strategic location near the country’s automotive tooling ecosystem, allowing closer collaboration with customers and suppliers.

Automotive manufacturing remains Yudo India’s largest business segment, followed by packaging, medical and PVC applications. Hot runner systems are essential components in modern injection moulding processes, enabling manufacturers to improve material utilization, reduce production waste and enhance product quality. By significantly expanding local manufacturing capacity, the company expects customers to benefit from faster deliveries, localized technical support and easier access to globally standardized products developed and tested within India.

The new facility also reflects Yudo’s commitment to workforce development and sustainable manufacturing. Currently employing around 100 people, the company plans to expand its workforce to approximately 125 employees over the next six months. As part of its diversity and inclusion initiatives, Yudo is working toward achieving 50 percent female participation on the shop floor through dedicated training programs focused on CNC machine operations and advanced manufacturing skills.

Sustainability has also been integrated into the design of the Vasai facility through the implementation of rooftop solar power generation, rainwater harvesting systems, solar daylighting solutions and energy-efficient building infrastructure. These initiatives are expected to reduce overall energy consumption and support environmentally responsible manufacturing practices. With its expanded production capacity, advanced engineering capabilities and strong focus on innovation, sustainability and workforce development, Yudo India is well positioned to support the continued growth of India’s plastics manufacturing industry while strengthening its role within Yudo’s global manufacturing network.
