Taiwan Excellence, an initiative of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), has reinforced its commitment to supporting India’s manufacturing transformation by presenting one of its largest industrial technology showcases at Automation Expo 2026 in Mumbai. The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion features an extensive range of AI-powered industrial solutions designed to help manufacturers accelerate their digital transformation journey while improving productivity, operational efficiency, sustainability, and global competitiveness. With 22 award-winning Taiwanese brands exhibiting more than 55 advanced technologies, the pavilion highlights Taiwan’s growing role as a strategic technology partner in India’s rapidly evolving manufacturing landscape.

As India continues to strengthen its position as a global manufacturing hub through initiatives such as Make in India and the increasing adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, demand for intelligent automation solutions has grown rapidly. Manufacturers across sectors including automotive, electronics, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, industrial machinery, and precision engineering are investing heavily in automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital manufacturing systems to improve production efficiency and remain competitive in global markets. Taiwan Excellence’s participation at Automation Expo 2026 reflects this growing demand by showcasing technologies that enable smarter, more connected, and data-driven manufacturing operations.

The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion was officially inaugurated by Homer Chang, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Mumbai, in the presence of representatives from leading manufacturing companies, industrial associations, technology partners, and automation professionals. The inauguration highlighted the strengthening relationship between India and Taiwan in the field of advanced manufacturing technologies and demonstrated both countries’ shared commitment to promoting innovation and industrial development.

One of the key highlights of the exhibition was the Taiwan Excellence Product Launch held under the theme “Building Sustainable Manufacturing with Taiwan’s Adaptive Solutions.” During the event, leading Taiwanese technology companies including HIWIN, IBASE, SINTRONES, and SYNTEC introduced their latest AI-enabled industrial solutions designed to enhance manufacturing performance while supporting sustainable production practices. The showcased technologies demonstrated how artificial intelligence, automation, and intelligent motion control can help manufacturers improve productivity, reduce machine downtime, optimise energy consumption, and achieve greater operational flexibility.

The pavilion also features innovations from several globally recognised Taiwanese technology companies, including AAEON, Advantech, Getac, ICP DAS, Lanner, PLANET, Shuttle, TOYO, Winmate, and many others. Together, these companies present a comprehensive portfolio of industrial technologies covering AI Edge Computing, industrial networking, robotics, motion control, industrial computing, machine vision, human-machine interfaces, industrial communication systems, and factory automation solutions.

Among the most significant attractions for visitors has been AI Edge Computing, which continues to emerge as one of the most important technologies driving Industry 4.0. Unlike traditional cloud-based computing, AI Edge Computing enables data processing directly at the machine or production line, allowing manufacturers to analyse information in real time without delays associated with remote data transmission. This capability supports predictive maintenance, intelligent process monitoring, quality inspection, machine learning, and rapid production decision-making, helping manufacturers improve equipment reliability while reducing costly production interruptions.

The increasing interest shown by visitors in AI Edge Computing reflects the manufacturing industry’s growing focus on intelligent factories where machines, sensors, software, and production systems work together to optimise operations automatically. Real-time analytics generated through edge computing enable manufacturers to identify equipment issues before failures occur, improve product quality through continuous monitoring, and maximise overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), resulting in higher productivity and lower operating costs.

Speaking at the inauguration, Homer Chang, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Mumbai, highlighted the expanding economic and technological partnership between India and Taiwan. He noted that India has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing manufacturing markets and emphasised Taiwan’s commitment to strengthening technology collaboration through its expertise in industrial automation, smart manufacturing, and advanced engineering solutions. Chang also pointed out that bilateral trade between India and Taiwan exceeded US$12 billion in 2025, demonstrating the growing economic relationship between the two countries. As cooperation expands into advanced manufacturing technologies, he believes there are significant opportunities to deepen industrial partnerships and support India’s ambition of becoming a leading global manufacturing destination.

Beyond showcasing individual products, the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion demonstrates how integrated automation ecosystems can enable manufacturers to build smarter, more sustainable factories. By combining artificial intelligence, robotics, industrial computing, intelligent control systems, and digital connectivity, the exhibited technologies help manufacturers improve production efficiency, reduce energy consumption, minimise downtime, and respond more effectively to changing market demands.

Open to visitors from 22 to 25 July 2026 at Hall 6, Booth I2–J2, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion serves as an important platform for fostering collaboration between Taiwanese technology providers and Indian manufacturers. As automation, artificial intelligence, and digital manufacturing continue to reshape industrial production, Taiwan Excellence’s participation at Automation Expo 2026 reinforces the growing strategic partnership between India and Taiwan while demonstrating how advanced technology can drive the next generation of smart, sustainable, and globally competitive manufacturing.
