Schneider Electric has inaugurated a new Motivair liquid cooling solutions manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, establishing its first production site for this technology in India and its third globally. The investment is aimed at supporting India’s rapidly expanding data center ecosystem, particularly the growing demand for high-density computing environments driven by artificial intelligence and digital services.

As India accelerates digital transformation across sectors, computing power requirements are increasing significantly. Advanced AI processors and high-performance computing systems generate substantial heat loads, often exceeding the capabilities of traditional air-cooling methods. Liquid cooling technology provides more efficient thermal management by directly removing heat at the source, improving reliability while reducing overall energy consumption in data center operations.

The Bengaluru facility will manufacture advanced liquid cooling systems designed for AI-ready data centers and high-density server environments. By localizing production, Schneider Electric aims to enhance supply chain resilience, shorten lead times and support faster deployment of infrastructure projects across India and international markets.

Manish Pant, Executive Vice President of International Operations at Schneider Electric, stated that the facility will play a key role in meeting India’s increasing need for scalable and energy-efficient digital infrastructure. He emphasized that advanced cooling solutions are critical for sustaining long-term growth in data-intensive sectors while maintaining environmental performance standards.

The plant will serve both domestic and global customers and will integrate into Schneider Electric’s international supply chain alongside similar facilities in the United States and Italy. The expansion also aligns with the India–France Year of Innovation 2026 initiative, which promotes cross-border collaboration in technology and industrial development.

Deepak Sharma, Zone President for Greater India and Managing Director and CEO of Schneider Electric India, noted that India is transitioning from being primarily a consumer of advanced digital infrastructure to becoming a manufacturing and innovation hub for global markets. Strengthening local manufacturing capacity for data center technologies is viewed as a critical step in supporting AI-driven growth and building more resilient technology ecosystems.

Schneider Electric supplies power management, cooling and digital monitoring systems to hyperscale data centers and supercomputing facilities worldwide. Its solutions are widely used to improve operational reliability, energy efficiency and sustainability. The new Bengaluru facility extends these capabilities by enabling domestic production of next-generation liquid cooling systems tailored for modern data center demands.

The company is also set to showcase its AI-focused data center technologies at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, highlighting integrated solutions that enhance performance, resilience and environmental sustainability in digital infrastructure. Through this investment, Schneider Electric reinforces its commitment to supporting India’s digital expansion with advanced, locally manufactured technologies designed for the next generation of computing.
