Seco has introduced the Double Turbo 11 milling insert, engineered specifically for smaller machines and applications involving shallow depths of cut. The new insert expands Seco’s milling portfolio by addressing the needs of manufacturers operating lower-horsepower equipment while maintaining precision and cost efficiency.

The Double Turbo 11 is a square shoulder insert designed for face, side and slot milling operations. Its double-sided configuration provides four usable cutting edges, improving cost-effectiveness and extending overall tool life. This design enables manufacturers to maximize insert utilization while maintaining consistent cutting performance across multiple applications.

The insert is capable of machining a wide range of materials, including steel, cast iron and superalloys. Despite being optimized for lighter machining conditions, it delivers reliable performance and stable cutting action, even when operating at lower depths of cut. This makes it suitable for small machining centers, compact milling machines and setups where spindle power is limited.

Seco has incorporated an optimized insert geometry to ensure clean and accurate cuts while reducing cutting forces. This geometry supports stable machining on less rigid machines, helping prevent chatter and improve surface finish quality. A specially designed support face reduces load on the centre screw by approximately 25 percent, enhancing insert stability and contributing to improved tool life.

Ease of use is another key feature of the Double Turbo 11. The insert includes a centre-locking screw system and clearly numbered cutting edges, allowing operators to change inserts quickly and accurately. These user-friendly features help reduce setup time and minimize the risk of incorrect insert positioning, improving overall shop floor efficiency.

With the introduction of the Double Turbo 11 milling insert, Seco provides manufacturers operating smaller machines with a dependable and economical solution for precision milling tasks, balancing performance, durability and operational simplicity.
