Big Daishowa Shrink-Fit System Enhances Toolholding Safety and Process Control!
Big Daishowa has introduced the Speroni Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100, a combined shrink-fit and cooling system designed to improve operator safety while delivering consistent, controlled toolholder shrinking. The system is engineered to automatically cool toolholders immediately after heating, significantly reducing the risk of operator burns and improving overall shop-floor safety.
The Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100 operates as a standalone unit that simplifies the heat-shrinking process. A high-frequency induction coil heats the toolholder to the required temperature, after which the system automatically initiates uniform cooling. This controlled transition from heating to cooling minimizes thermal stress on the toolholder while ensuring reliable clamping performance.
To protect toolholders and maintain process stability, the system uses a built-in pyrometer that continuously monitors temperature. Heating is automatically regulated and held at the optimal level, preventing overheating and preserving toolholder integrity. Operators can initiate the shrinking process with a single touch, navigating parameters through a simple, intuitive display that allows full customization of both shrinking and cooling cycles.
The system supports a wide range of applications, with shrinking diameters from 3 to 32 mm for carbide shanks and 6 to 32 mm for HSS shanks. This flexibility makes the Pro Shrink TubeChiller 1100 suitable for a variety of machining environments, from high-precision CNC operations to general production shops seeking safer and more repeatable tool changes.
Commenting on the launch, Patrick Cratty, Speroni Sales Manager, said that Speroni has been a long-standing partner for Big Daishowa customers and that this marks the first time the company is offering its standalone shrink-fit technology. He noted that the Pro Shrink system builds on more than two decades of experience in tool measurement and shrink-fit technology, delivering a mature solution focused on safety, reliability, and ease of use.
