Hexagon India Introduces ATS800 at IMTEX Forming 2026 to Address Large-Scale Precision Measurement Needs
Hexagon India has officially introduced its ATS800 metrology solution to the Indian market at IMTEX Forming 2026, marking an important milestone in the company’s strategy to support high-precision, large-scale manufacturing applications. Although the ATS800 has been available internationally, its showcase at IMTEX Forming represents its formal entry into India’s rapidly evolving manufacturing and quality inspection ecosystem.
The launch took place in Bengaluru at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, where Hexagon India is demonstrating the capabilities of the ATS800 to manufacturers from sectors such as aerospace, automotive, energy, heavy engineering, and large fabrication. The presence of senior leadership at the launch highlighted Hexagon’s intent to deepen its engagement with Indian manufacturers as they move toward more complex products, tighter tolerances, and globally competitive quality standards.
The ATS800 has been developed specifically to address the growing challenge of measuring large components, complex geometries, and fine features without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency. As component sizes increase and assemblies become more intricate, traditional inspection methods often struggle with long setup times, frequent repositioning, and compromised repeatability. The ATS800 tackles these issues by combining direct laser scanning and reflector tracking in a single portable system, enabling accurate measurement from distances of up to 40 metres. This allows manufacturers to inspect large parts and assemblies in situ, reducing the need to move either the part or the measurement equipment.
For Indian manufacturers transitioning toward higher-value production, inspection speed and consistency are becoming as critical as machining accuracy itself. The ATS800 is positioned to significantly reduce inspection cycle times while maintaining high measurement confidence. By minimizing interruptions to production and improving repeatability across inspection cycles, the system supports more reliable quality control in both low-volume, high-complexity work and large-scale production environments.
Beyond core measurement capability, the ATS800 has been designed with digital manufacturing workflows in mind. The system supports integration with automation platforms, robotic inspection setups, and existing metrology software environments. This makes it well suited for manufacturers pursuing Industry 4.0 initiatives, where inspection data must flow seamlessly into production, quality, and decision-making systems. Such connectivity improves traceability, accelerates root-cause analysis, and enables faster corrective actions on the shop floor.
The flexibility of the ATS800 allows it to be deployed across a wide range of applications. These include inspection of aircraft structures, automotive body-in-white assemblies, heavy fabricated components, and large energy infrastructure parts. By enabling accurate measurement directly within operational environments, the system supports quality assurance without disrupting production schedules—an increasingly important requirement for manufacturers operating under tight delivery timelines.
Hexagon’s participation at IMTEX Forming 2026 reflects its continued investment in the Indian market and its view of advanced metrology as a foundational element of modern manufacturing. As Indian industry pushes toward higher precision, digitalization, and global competitiveness, solutions like the ATS800 are positioned as key enablers of productivity and quality.
The launch of the ATS800 underscores Hexagon India’s focus on scalable, application-driven metrology solutions that align with the evolving needs of Indian manufacturers. With demand rising for digital inspection, automation-ready measurement systems, and large-volume accuracy, the ATS800 represents a strategic addition to Hexagon’s portfolio for supporting the next phase of India’s manufacturing growth.
