Epiroc has introduced the Minetruck MT33, a next-generation underground haul truck engineered to deliver a 33-tonne capacity within a compact footprint. Designed specifically for medium-sized drifts, the MT33 offers the productivity and performance typically associated with larger haulage equipment—while maintaining the maneuverability required in confined mining environments. According to Prerna Devkar, Global Product Manager for Minetrucks (Small Segment) within Epiroc’s Underground division, the MT33’s rugged build, low profile, automatic transmission and high ramp speeds allow it to excel in challenging mining conditions.

Developed from the proven Minetruck MT436B platform, the new MT33 incorporates customer-driven enhancements to improve operational efficiency, reliability and operator comfort. The truck’s improved cabin design, combined with thoughtful ergonomics, ensures that operators experience reduced fatigue during long shifts. Visibility improvements—made possible through strategically placed integrated cameras—also enhance situational awareness in underground spaces where safety is paramount.

The MT33 features several built-in safety systems that reflect Epiroc’s commitment to protecting mine personnel. These include factory-installed emergency stop controls, fail-safe braking mechanisms and additional monitoring capabilities that support safe machine operation in demanding environments.
