(USMP), headquartered in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, has announced the appointment of Bryan Wilkinson as Business Development Manager for USMP and its subsidiary AMPAL, Inc. This strategic leadership addition reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its market presence, strengthening customer partnerships and driving growth in the rapidly evolving metal powder and additive manufacturing sectors.
In this newly created role, Wilkinson is tasked with identifying and developing new business opportunities across USMP’s global markets. He will work closely with industry stakeholders, build long-term customer relationships and coordinate internal technical and commercial resources to scale up new product lines. A key focus will be supporting the expansion of spherical aluminium powder production from AMPAL’s newly commissioned manufacturing line, positioning USMP to meet rising demand from aerospace, defence, automotive and industrial customers.
Wilkinson brings nearly a decade of technical and business development experience in the aerospace and defence industries. Prior to joining USMP, he served as an Account Manager at PPG Aerospace, where he played a critical role in growing the company’s military and aerospace business. His responsibilities included providing on-site technical support, identifying new customer segments and driving market penetration across strategic accounts. His multi-disciplinary background spans research, sales and marketing, with deep specialisation in coatings, sealants and Additive Manufacturing solutions tailored for high-performance aerospace applications.
Over the course of his career, Wilkinson has demonstrated a strong track record of innovation and technical problem-solving. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Washington & Jefferson College and is named as an inventor on eighteen granted patents covering specialty materials, aerospace components and additive manufacturing processes. His combination of hands-on technical expertise and commercial leadership uniquely positions him to advance USMP’s mission of delivering high-quality aluminium powders to global markets.
USMP has a long and distinguished history in the metal powder industry, dating back to its founding in 1918. With two dedicated production facilities—AMPAL in Palmerton, USA, and Poudres Hermillon (PH) in La Tour-en-Maurienne, France—the company is recognized as a leading supplier of aluminium powders for applications across aerospace, defence, automotive, consumer goods, industrial manufacturing, construction and energy. AMPAL has grown to become one of the largest U.S. producers of aluminium powder, with products serving a wide array of end-use markets where performance, consistency and material quality are mission critical.
The appointment of Bryan Wilkinson marks an important step in USMP’s continued growth and innovation strategy. By strengthening its leadership team, the company aims to accelerate product development, broaden customer engagement and reinforce its long-term commitment to supporting advanced manufacturing industries with high-quality aluminium powder solutions.
