DMG MORI Co., Ltd. and Haimer GmbH have announced a significant expansion of their longstanding global partnership, marking a bold step forward in tool-room digitization, automation, and advanced software integration. This enhanced collaboration reinforces nearly two decades of trust and technical synergy between two industry leaders—DMG MORI in machine tools and HAIMER in high-precision tooling technologies. Through this renewed and expanded agreement, both companies aim to accelerate machining transformation (MX) and digital transformation (DX) for manufacturers around the world.
For years, the success of modern machining has depended not only on high-performance machine tools but also on the precision and reliability of peripheral technologies that ensure accuracy from spindle to cutting edge. DMG MORI and HAIMER have consistently delivered this combination, supporting global manufacturers in optimizing productivity, reducing downtime, and improving machining outcomes. With the latest agreement, the partnership now expands to include the integration of HAIMER’s cutting-edge digital software solutions into the DMG MORI Qualified Products (DMQP) program, enabling worldwide resale and seamless connectivity across machining ecosystems.
Dr. Masahiko Mori, President of DMG MORI Co., Ltd., emphasized the importance of the next phase of this partnership. He highlighted that integrating HAIMER’s shrink-fit, balancing, presetting, and tooling automation into DMG MORI’s global offerings will strengthen the company’s MX and DX strategies. According to Dr. Mori, this deeper cooperation will accelerate the development of digital twins and enhance connectivity across DMG MORI’s vast machine portfolio, offering customers fully integrated and intelligent process solutions.
For HAIMER, digital connectivity is the foundation of the future tool room. Andreas Haimer, President of the HAIMER Group, announced that the partnership will enable the worldwide rollout of HAIMER’s “Tool Room of the Future” concept. This includes advanced Industry 4.0 presetting, shrinking, and balancing systems, as well as powerful software such as WinTool and Tool Room Manager. Additionally, HAIMER’s smart Toolbase vending systems will be deployed at DMG MORI facilities, showrooms, and technology centers, allowing global customers to access a complete, digitized tooling ecosystem through DMG MORI’s DMQP program—with financing options tied to machine purchases.
A major component of the expanded cooperation is the installation of HAIMER’s Industry 4.0-ready systems at key DMG MORI locations, including the global headquarters in Tokyo and production facilities in Iga, Japan, and Pfronten, Germany. The “Tool Room of the Future” ensures full process traceability, automated tool management, and seamless data flow from digital twin creation to tool assembly and automated reordering.
One of the most transformative additions has been the introduction of the HAIMER Automation Cube One at DMG MORI’s Iga plant. This advanced, 12-axis automated cell—complete with cobots and precision Magnescale components—enables fully automated, lights-out tool assembly using HAIMER’s shrink-fit technology. The results have been remarkable, with DMG MORI reporting productivity increases of 30% or more after transitioning from conventional tooling systems to HAIMER’s shrink-fit technology. According to Kazutoyo Moriguchi, Senior Executive Officer at DMG MORI Iga, the Automation Cube One has been a true “game changer,” helping the facility overcome skill shortages while achieving higher accuracy and efficiency.
The partnership’s impact extends beyond hardware. At EMO Hannover 2025, DMG MORI Technium and HAIMER showcased the global rollout of WinTool—HAIMER’s robust digital tool and data management platform. DMG MORI Technium will now distribute WinTool and HAIMER’s software solutions worldwide, supporting tool-room digitization and providing digital twin connectivity to more than 20 CAM systems. This new software distribution agreement underscores HAIMER’s role as one of DMG MORI’s most valuable long-term DMQP partners.
Koichi Nosaka, President of HAIMER Japan K.K., highlighted the direct customer benefits of this expanded partnership. He noted that HAIMER’s technologies have helped Japanese manufacturers achieve exceptional results—such as extending spindle life by up to 300% through precision balancing and improving accuracy and ease of use with HAIMER’s Microset presetting systems. Customers across the globe will now gain even easier access to HAIMER’s full product line through DMG MORI’s extensive global network.
With this strengthened partnership, DMG MORI and HAIMER are not only shaping the future of digital tool management but also empowering manufacturers worldwide to embrace faster, smarter, more connected machining environments.
