Allied Machine Expands T-A Pro Line with Drill and Chamfer Holders for Faster, More Efficient Holemaking!

Allied Machine and Engineering has expanded its T-A Pro product line with the introduction of new drill and chamfer holders, designed to help manufacturers drill and chamfer holes in a single operation. This innovation eliminates the need for secondary operations like chamfering or deburring — as well as tool changes — significantly reducing cycle times and improving production efficiency.

The new holders are ideal for automotive, heavy equipment, and mold & die industries, where large volumes of threaded holes are common and productivity gains can have a major impact on throughput. Compatible with all existing T-A Pro inserts, the drill and chamfer holders are available in Y-3 series and sub-series A and C, offering broad application flexibility.

Each holder provides a 0.040″ (1.0 mm) × 45° chamfer for multiple thread specifications, including UN, ISO, NPT, NPS, BSPP, BSPT, and BSW, while also edge-breaking the top of the hole to minimize secondary deburring. With flute lengths starting at 2×D, the holders can be used for extended-length drilling up to 15×D, making them well-suited for deep-hole applications.

What sets the T-A Pro drill and chamfer body apart is its wide diameter range, allowing users to perform both drilling and chamfering with a single tool — without compromising performance. A user-friendly selection guide helps operators quickly identify the correct body and insert combination for specific thread sizes, and Allied Machine also offers customized solutions for unique diameter and depth requirements.

“We’ve taken the specialized performance our customers count on and transformed it into a standard solution — designed to simplify setups, cut cycle times, and drive higher throughput,”
says John Weniger, Product Manager of the T-A Pro line.

With this latest addition, Allied Machine continues to deliver cutting-edge tooling innovations that simplify manufacturing workflows, reduce downtime, and increase shop-floor productivity — reinforcing the company’s commitment to helping manufacturers achieve greater efficiency and precision in holemaking operations.
