Mitsubishi Materials USA Corp. has introduced the DVAS TriStar Drill Series, designed to offer improved fracture resistance, efficiency, and durability in drilling applications. This next-generation drill series integrates advanced technology to address key challenges faced by manufacturers, such as heat buildup and chip flow issues.
A standout feature of the DVAS TriStar Drill Series is its Tri-Cooling technology, which increases the coolant discharge volume by more than double compared to conventional drills. This enhancement helps to improve chip discharge and heat dissipation, significantly reducing the risk of overheating during high-speed drilling operations.
The drill’s design includes a straight cutting edge and a thinned point connected by a smooth, curved geometry. This innovative design contributes to better fracture resistance, ensuring longer tool life even under demanding conditions. Additionally, the point thinning optimizes chip flow and reduces cutting resistance, enhancing both efficiency and accuracy.
For short drills, Mitsubishi has incorporated a specialized flute and taper neck, which improves tool rigidity and further optimizes chip flow. These features combine to offer a more reliable and efficient drilling solution, making the DVAS TriStar Drill Series ideal for various industrial applications.
