Weiler Abrasives has introduced a new line of finishing tools with the launch of Tiger 3D Max ceramic flap discs and blending discs. The new products are designed to deliver higher material removal rates, longer tool life and improved finishing performance in demanding metalworking applications.

A key feature of the Tiger 3D Max range is its advanced 3D precision-shaped grain technology. Unlike conventional abrasive grains that lie flat against the disc surface, the precision-shaped grains are engineered to stand upright. This orientation increases the number of cutting points that contact the workpiece, allowing operators to remove more material in less time while maintaining a consistent finish.

The ceramic grains are also designed to microfracture during use. As the grain fractures, it continually exposes fresh, sharp cutting edges. This self-sharpening behavior helps maintain aggressive cutting performance throughout the life of the disc, reducing the need for frequent disc replacements and improving overall productivity.

Another important advantage of the design is optimized grain retention. The disc structure is engineered to hold abrasive grains securely during heavy grinding and blending operations, minimizing premature grain loss and extending product life. The combination of upright grain orientation, microfracturing capability and improved retention enables the discs to perform effectively in high-demand finishing environments.

The Tiger 3D Max flap discs are available in 4.5-inch and 7-inch sizes to suit common angle grinder applications. They are offered with a 7/8-inch open arbor configuration as well as a 5/8-11 hub option, providing flexibility for different tool setups and operator preferences.

In addition to flap discs, Weiler Abrasives has introduced Tiger 3D Max blending discs designed for surface finishing and material blending operations. These discs are available with both Type S and Type R connection systems, enabling quick mounting and fast disc changes during production tasks. The quick-change connection systems help reduce downtime and allow operators to switch discs efficiently when moving between grinding and finishing operations.

The new Tiger 3D Max product line is intended for use in a variety of metal fabrication environments where efficient material removal and consistent surface finishes are essential. Applications include weld blending, surface preparation and general finishing tasks commonly performed in fabrication shops and industrial manufacturing facilities.

By integrating advanced abrasive grain technology with durable disc construction, the Tiger 3D Max series is designed to improve productivity while delivering reliable performance in demanding metalworking applications.
