Bossard Inc., a leader in industrial fastening and assembly technology solutions, is set to unveil its innovative fastening technology at the 2024 FABTECH show in Orlando, Florida, from October 15-17. This live demonstration aims to highlight advancements that enhance production and manufacturing processes, addressing critical industry challenges such as skilled labor shortages, cost management, and stringent quality standards.
In an era where finding and retaining qualified workers is increasingly difficult due to high turnover rates, Bossard is committed to simplifying workloads and streamlining training. Their custom ELAM software plays a pivotal role in this initiative, enhancing assembly processes through connected devices, real-time data collection, and comprehensive traceability. By replacing outdated manual methods with automated systems, ELAM facilitates easier onboarding and reduces assembly errors, thereby improving overall efficiency.
Quality control remains central to Bossard’s mission, backed by a global team of over 80 technical experts, accredited testing laboratories, and various quality certifications. At FABTECH, the company will showcase innovations such as Ultrasonic Measuring Equipment and Junker’s Vibration Testing Machine, which precisely assess critical parameters like torque, angle, load, and RPM to ensure compliance with quality standards. Doug Jones, Application Engineering Manager, emphasizes, “Engineers design for clamp load and use calculations to estimate how much torque to use for safely fastened joints. Visit our booth to see how Bossard can measure actual clamp load in your joint and eliminate guesswork.”
Additionally, Bossard will conduct a live demonstration of their SmartBin technology and ARIMS system, utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) to optimize global supply chain management. This technology automates inventory tracking and reduces working hours by up to 1,800, contributing to a lower total cost of ownership.
“Our engineers are innovating the fastener industry through their forward-thinking mindset and unparalleled expertise, developing solutions that anticipate future needs and surpass current standards,” says Mike Zehentner, Business Development Manager. The company will also highlight its Assembly Technology Expert services and Smart Factory Assembly innovations, designed to assist manufacturers in crafting and refining fastening strategies with the aid of accredited testing laboratories, custom software, and expert engineering insights.
Founded in 1831, the Bossard Group has evolved into a globally recognized leader in industrial fastening and assembly technology. Renowned for their innovation, quality, and reliability, Bossard’s extensive product portfolio includes standard fasteners, securing and antiloosening elements, functional components, direct assembly screws, and specialized coatings. The company also offers comprehensive logistics solutions and expert education services tailored to various sectors, including automotive, industrial, aerospace, and agriculture.
