Taylor’s University, Dassault Systèmes and IME Technology Launch Malaysia’s First SOLIDWORKS SkillForce Program!
Dassault Systèmes has taken a major step in strengthening Malaysia’s engineering and design talent ecosystem by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taylor’s University and IME Technology to introduce the country’s first SOLIDWORKS SkillForce program. Announced in Subang Jaya, this collaboration marks an important milestone in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry requirements, while positioning Malaysia within a fast-growing global skills initiative.
SOLIDWORKS SkillForce is a global program by Dassault Systèmes aimed at preparing students for professional engineering careers by combining certified technical skills with access to industry-grade design tools. The initiative is designed to ensure that students graduate with not only theoretical knowledge, but also hands-on experience and globally recognized credentials that enhance their employability in competitive engineering and design roles.
Under the MoU, Taylor’s University, Dassault Systèmes and IME Technology will work together to support Malaysia’s talent development agenda by aligning academic training with industry expectations. Taylor’s University will serve as the academic anchor of the program, delivering structured SOLIDWORKS training and preparing students for the Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) examination. This approach ensures that students gain practical, job-ready skills while still within the university environment, creating a smoother transition from education to professional practice.
In addition to certification training, Taylor’s University will actively support student enrollment into the SOLIDWORKS SkillForce program, enabling participants to apply their skills during internships and early-career opportunities. This integration of classroom learning with real-world application is expected to significantly enhance students’ confidence, competence and readiness for the workplace.
IME Technology, a long-standing SOLIDWORKS partner in the region, will play a complementary role by developing an induction program focused on workplace readiness. This program will equip students with essential SOLIDWORKS knowledge alongside professional skills required in engineering environments, helping them adapt quickly to industry workflows, expectations and standards. Through this effort, IME Technology aims to strengthen the practical engineering skill base needed to support Malaysia’s growing innovation and manufacturing ecosystem.
Leadership from all three organizations highlighted the broader impact of the collaboration. Taylor’s University emphasized its commitment to producing future-ready graduates equipped for Malaysia’s digital and innovation-driven economy. IME Technology underlined the importance of building a strong national talent pipeline with practical, industry-aligned skills. Dassault Systèmes reinforced its belief that modern innovation requires engineers and designers who can connect virtual and real worlds, leverage advanced technologies and contribute to more sustainable, human-centric solutions.
The launch of SOLIDWORKS SkillForce in Malaysia follows rapid global expansion of the program. Since its introduction earlier in 2025, SkillForce has reached 53 countries, attracted more than 2,500 applications and enabled over 250 selected students to gain future-ready engineering skills. Malaysia’s inclusion represents another step in Dassault Systèmes’ mission to nurture a globally connected community of skilled innovators.
With more than eight million users worldwide, SOLIDWORKS continues to be one of the most widely adopted 3D design and engineering platforms. Supported by a global network of partners across academia and industry, the introduction of SkillForce in Malaysia is expected to play a meaningful role in shaping the next generation of engineers, designers and innovators ready to contribute to the nation’s technology-driven future.
