Siemens, a global leader in industrial automation, and rhobot.ai, a pioneer in probabilistic artificial intelligence for industrial systems, have announced the commercial availability of their specialized, edge-native AI solution for manufacturing, now accessible through the Siemens Xcelerator digital marketplace. This milestone marks a major advancement in industrial automation, bringing real-time optimization and control capabilities directly to the factory floor.
The partnership between Siemens and rhobot.ai represents a bold shift in how artificial intelligence is applied within manufacturing. Unlike conventional AI models or copilots designed for data interpretation and human interaction, this solution performs the “math of manufacturing operations”, directly integrating with industrial edge systems. The AI works in real time to analyze data, tune parameters, and optimize performance—essentially communicating in the language of machines to deliver immediate, actionable results.
The collaboration gained momentum after a highly successful deployment at CarbonAMS, an anaerobic digester facility in Ireland. Using Siemens Edge devices, CarbonAMS leveraged rhobot.ai’s AI technology without any downtime and achieved a 39% reduction in digester parasitic load and a 2.5% increase in gas output. These gains translate to an estimated annual potential value exceeding $1 billion across Europe’s 20,000 digesters, highlighting the technology’s immense economic and environmental potential. Encouraged by these results, CarbonAMS plans to extend the implementation across its facilities and into other manufacturing sectors across Europe.
Patrick Harte, CTO of CarbonAMS, praised the partnership’s results, saying, “We could not be more pleased with this two-week result using rhobot.ai artificial intelligence on Siemens edge devices. We expect continuous gains with the ability to analyze unlimited combinations of process inputs that we could never test before. We look forward to installing this AI capability across our portfolio and working with Siemens and rhobot.ai to deploy it across the anaerobic digester market and other manufacturing sectors in Europe.”
John Parrott, Vice President at Siemens, emphasized how this collaboration redefines the role of AI in industry: “AI in industrial automation has evolved from promise to performance. With rhobot.ai, we’re not just monitoring or predicting—we are optimizing, tuning, and controlling with AI that speaks the language of machines rather than people. That’s a game-changer that improves efficiency and sustainability, enhancing the health of industry rather than replacing people.”
The origins of this collaboration trace back to Agbotic Inc., the predecessor of rhobot.ai, where the foundational concepts were first validated in robotic greenhouse systems in 2024. Since then, the solution has evolved into a robust industrial-grade AI platform engineered to operate directly on Siemens’ industrial edge hardware. It autonomously queries and analyzes machine data, adjusts control logic, and refines process parameters—all while maintaining the reliability and safety standards demanded by large-scale industrial operations.
John Gaus, CEO of rhobot.ai, added, “Our platform doesn’t simulate reality—it learns from it. By working directly with real process and machine data, we unlock a level of responsiveness and precision previously not achievable. We are thrilled to collaborate with Siemens and to be part of the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace, bringing practical, machine-native AI to the global manufacturing community.”
The availability of this edge-native AI solution on Siemens Xcelerator signifies a new era for smart manufacturing, where AI moves from predictive analytics to direct process optimization and control. By combining Siemens’ industrial automation expertise with rhobot.ai’s innovative AI technology, the partnership is paving the way for intelligent, sustainable, and self-optimizing manufacturing systems that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen global competitiveness.
