O’Neal Manufacturing Services has appointed Jason Smith as general manager of its Louisville, Kentucky steel fabrication facility, reinforcing its leadership team with deep industry experience and operational expertise.
Smith brings more than three decades of experience in the steel and fabrication industry, having worked across a wide range of roles including machine operation, shipping, maintenance, and production supervision. His extensive background across steel service centers and fabrication plants positions him well to oversee operations at one of OMS’s key facilities.
Since joining O’Neal Manufacturing Services, Smith has steadily advanced through several important roles within the organisation. His contributions include positions as manufacturing analyst, regional lean manufacturing specialist, and production manager, where he played a key role in driving efficiency and process improvements. Most recently, he served as assistant general manager of the company’s Indianapolis facility, further strengthening his leadership credentials.
In his new role, Smith will be responsible for managing operations at the Louisville plant, focusing on enhancing productivity, maintaining quality standards, and supporting customer requirements. His experience in lean manufacturing and operational optimisation is expected to contribute to improved efficiency and performance at the facility.
