Velo3D Unveils Rapid Production Solutions for Additive Manufacturing!
Velo3D, a leading innovator in metal additive manufacturing (AM), has introduced its new Rapid Production Solutions…
Mobility Solutions Limited (MSL), a part of the JCBL Group, has announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Batauli, Punjab. Spanning over 41,700 square meters, with a covered area of 12,000 square meters, the upgraded facility will support MSL’s growing market potential in railways, automotive, defense, aerospace, and infrastructure sectors. The expansion is a major step for MSL, reinforcing its commitment to delivering advanced composite solutions while contributing to India’s growing manufacturing capabilities.
The Batauli facility now offers more than just Glass-Reinforced Plastic (GRP) manufacturing. It provides a wider range of composite solutions, including those for metro projects, railways, and global clients like Alstom and Wabtec. This facility marks a significant upgrade from MSL’s original 2004 plant, which primarily served internal needs. Commercial production commenced in December 2024, with full operational capacity expected by July 2025.
Strategically located near JCBL Group’s other manufacturing plants, the Batauli facility offers access to skilled labor and efficient transportation networks. Currently employing over 150 personnel, MSL plans to expand its workforce and add new product lines, contributing to local economic growth. The plant aims to boost production capacity by three times, meeting the increasing demand for advanced composites both domestically and internationally.
MSL’s expansion also includes the creation of a Centre of Excellence, bringing together R&D, tooling, prototyping, manufacturing, and testing under one roof. The new facility will drive innovation in composites manufacturing, focusing on lightweight, durable, and low-maintenance materials for the automotive, defense, aerospace, and infrastructure sectors.
In line with its sustainability goals, the facility incorporates several green initiatives, including renewable energy systems, water conservation techniques, and a waste reduction program. A solar energy system is also in the works to further reduce the plant’s environmental impact. These efforts align with MSL’s commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices, helping to meet global environmental standards.
R G Arora, Managing Director of MSL, expressed his excitement about the expansion, noting that it would position the company as a leader in advanced composites manufacturing. With this new facility, MSL is poised to drive innovation, enhance competitiveness, and offer exceptional value to customers in key sectors such as public transport, defense, aerospace, and agriculture.
