ISCAR has introduced the CERMILL family, a new series of indexable endmills with ceramic round inserts, specifically designed for high-efficiency machining. These endmills are compact in diameter but feature an ingenious mechanism for high-rigid insert clamping, which enables a greater number of teeth compared to other endmills in the same diameter category. This design innovation allows for fast and user-friendly indexing and insert replacement without the need to remove the endmill from the tool holder, providing significant convenience in operations.
The combination of a higher number of teeth and the extreme rigidity of the clamping mechanism results in increased productivity, making these endmills ideal for milling planes and 3D surfaces. Currently, the CERMILL endmills are available in three diameters: 16 mm, 20 mm, and 25 mm, ensuring a range of options for various milling applications.
The endmill bodies are coated with a special layer that enhances chip flow and offers protection against corrosion and wear, extending tool life. Each endmill is equipped with indexable single-sided positive round inserts with a 6.35 mm diameter. These inserts are available in three ceramic grades: IS14 and IS15, which are tailored for machining HTSA (High-Temperature Super Alloys), and IS45, which is suitable for both HTSA and cast iron machining. With these advanced features, ISCAR’s CERMILL endmills deliver high productivity, precision, and reliability, making them a valuable tool for modern manufacturing environments.
