UK Government Unveils £2 Billion Industrial Strategy to Power Advanced Manufacturing and Automotive Growth
Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds has announced a bold new chapter for the UK’s advanced…
ADDMAN has partnered with Create it REAL to integrate its patented ADDCAAM slicing software into the REALvision Pro platform, making it accessible to a wider range of manufacturers. This new collaboration brings advanced tool pathing techniques to REALvision Pro users, enabling them to enhance the mechanical performance of their 3D printed parts with capabilities that were previously unavailable in mainstream slicing tools.
REALvision Pro, a cutting-edge slicing software platform developed by Create it REAL, is known for its smart slicing strategies, user-friendly interface, and compatibility with leading FDM (fused deposition modeling) 3D printing systems. By adding the ADDCAAM plugin, REALvision Pro now empowers users to strengthen the mechanical properties of their printed parts, improving their performance and durability without increasing print time.
The core of the ADDCAAM technology lies in two proprietary features—InterLace and InterLocking InFill—which work in tandem to significantly improve layer adhesion, reduce porosity, and increase the overall strength of the printed parts. In benchmark tests, parts printed using ADDCAAM have demonstrated up to 70% greater strength and 100 times less porosity compared to standard FDM prints, all without requiring additional printing time. This advancement is particularly important in industries where part performance and material integrity are critical, as it directly addresses common issues faced by traditional FDM methods.
One of the main challenges of conventional FDM printing is the weak polymer cross-linking in the X/Y plane, which can lead to gaps between aligned beads, creating stress risers that cause mechanical failure. ADDCAAM overcomes this by employing a non-coplanar bead stacking method that results in interlocking layers, ensuring stronger adhesion between layers. Additionally, the structured infill strategy locks internal features into the external walls, creating a more cohesive and load-bearing structure that improves the overall strength and reliability of the part.
This integration of ADDCAAM technology into REALvision Pro marks a significant step forward in the evolution of 3D printing, offering manufacturers a powerful tool to produce parts with superior mechanical properties without compromising on print efficiency or ease of use. With this development, 3D printing professionals now have access to advanced features that previously required complex or specialized software, making these capabilities more accessible to a broader range of users.
As 3D printing continues to expand into various industries, the ability to enhance part performance with minimal changes to the existing printing process is a game-changer, particularly in fields like aerospace, automotive, and medical device manufacturing. With ADDCAAM now available as a plugin for REALvision Pro, the potential for creating high-performance, cost-effective parts is greater than ever before.
