According to Andrea Cassoni, ABB’s Global Head of Collaborative Robots, the Ultra Accuracy feature combines high-performance path precision with GoFa’s inherent simplicity, safety, and flexibility. This development opens up a multitude of opportunities for businesses seeking to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
The Ultra Accuracy feature is particularly beneficial for applications that require exact positioning, such as gluing and sealing in consumer electronics production, laser welding of automotive parts, layering composite materials in aerospace manufacturing, and precision laser cutting in metal fabrication. Additionally, it can be utilized for accurate additive layer positioning in 3D printing prototypes and performing precision quality checks in metrology applications.
One of the key advantages of GoFa cobots is their ability to deliver precision without sacrificing speed or range of motion. Unlike traditional 2D gantry systems commonly used in electronics manufacturing, GoFa cobots provide full 6D motion across their entire workspace without the need for additional calibration, thus offering the flexibility to handle a wider range of tasks.
