BIG DAISHOWA Seiki Co., Ltd., a leading global provider of precision tooling solutions, has announced the opening of its ninth production plant at its Awaji, Japan, manufacturing facility. This significant expansion aims to meet current production demands and accommodate future growth, showcasing the company’s commitment to innovation and efficiency.

Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities

The new 49,500-square-meter facility, which began operations in January 2024, is equipped with 21 multitasking machines and 23 automatic lathes. These advanced machines are set to produce BBT and BT tool holders in taper sizes 30 to 50, with an initial monthly target of 20,000 tools and the potential to double this output. The facility highlights BIG DAISHOWA’s dedication to maintaining high standards of precision and quality in manufacturing.

Focus on Automation and Sustainability

Automation plays a crucial role in the operations at the new plant. Robots and Automated Guided Forklifts (AGFs) are used to streamline material handling processes, significantly enhancing productivity and ensuring consistent quality. This integration of advanced automation not only improves operational efficiency but also boosts process reliability.

In line with BIG DAISHOWA’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the facility features a central filtration system that recycles coolant at multiple points throughout the plant. Additionally, advanced air purification systems capture and treat oil mist from the machines, maintaining a clean factory environment and minimizing emissions.

VIP Center and Technological Showcases

The new plant includes a MEGA VIP Center designed to welcome visitors and showcase BIG DAISHOWA’s latest technologies. This center serves as a testament to the company’s ongoing innovation and dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions to its customers.

Global Presence and Recognition

BIG DAISHOWA, headquartered in Osaka, Japan, with U.S. operations based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, is recognized globally for its high-quality tooling solutions. The company also represents several prestigious brands in North America, including Speroni tool measuring machines, Sphinx high-performance drills, and the UNILOCK zero-point workholding system.
