Renishaw has launched a next-generation Build Processor (NxG BP) developed with Materialise, strengthening integration between Materialise Magics and Renishaw’s RenAM metal additive manufacturing systems through a streamlined workflow.
The processor enables direct export of job files from Magics to Renishaw machines using the QuantAM file format, eliminating manual file handling, reducing errors and saving preparation time.
Ben Diaz, Product Manager at Renishaw, explains: “We’ve worked closely with users to understand bottlenecks in their AM workflows. NxG BP enables swim lane laser control, integrated inspector tools, implicit modelling support and RenAM 500 series compatibility. Customers will have a more intuitive and efficient way to get from design to print.”
A key innovation is the Swim Lane feature, which distributes laser scanning across defined regions of the build platform, preventing interference between lasers whilst managing overlap for full fusion. This enhances part quality and consistency whilst reducing build times.
The integrated Inspector tool enables real-time verification of laser paths and job setup within the workflow, eliminating the need to switch between software packages for quality checks. The processor is compatible with the complete RenAM machine range.
