Kurt streamlines workflow with 5-axis vices

Wednesday 19 May 2021, 12:08:46 AM

Now available from Carillon Industrial Services (CIS) is the new Kurt PF-Series 5-axis vices that can improve part handling, save downtime and unnecessary expenses.
The new Precision Force (PF) 5-Axis MaxLock™ vice is designed to be user friendly while saving time and expense. The three new models with three available jaw options are the latest addition to the CIS 5-axis workholding line-up. These versatile vices are robot ready with new user-friendly features like quick lash adjustment and 52mm spacing for automation-ready applications using zero-point systems.

Kurt’s PF420, PF440 and PF460 vices come with standard 4-inch jaw width and jaw openings, making them suitable for any customer’s small-part workholding applications. The compact size also allows parts to be positioned close to the centre of rotation on 5-axis machines. Once mounted in a machine, self-centring jaws move simultaneously to locate parts accurately with excellent repeatability.

PF-series vices replace the previous Kurt HP models and feature the patented AngLock® design to minimise jaw lift and deflection. The proven AngLock® design naturally pushes the jaws down and forward allowing much greater surface contact on parts —maximizing clamping strength with less clamp force.
