DMG MORI DMU 60 eVo, now in the next generation..
Not just an upgrade – this is a revolution on your shop floor! DMG MORI’s DMU…
Two locations: trends in machine tool manufacturing to be presented at EMO 2021 and in DMG MORI’s Milan showroom
From October 4th to 9th 2021, DMG MORI’s motto at EMO will be “Get together” – and in two locations at once: on the company’s exhibition stand in Hall 1 and in its Milan showroom, where nine high-technology machine tools will be exhibited, five of them as automated production solutions. The locations, approximately 10 kilometers apart, will be connected by a free shuttle service. In this way, the machine tool manufacturer is offering numerous opportunities to engage in discussions in person again after a long time.
The latest developments will be presented at both locations, the highlight being the world premiere of the NZ series, with which DMG MORI is setting new standards in the field of production turning. An automated NZ TRE will be presented in the showroom, while the NZ QUATTRO will attract visitors’ interest on the DMG MORI stand at the exhibition.
The new PAYZR business model for software and equipment as a service will also be a topic of conversation. It allows customers to subscribe to both machine and software solutions at low cost, without risk and flexibly. DMG MORI will be demonstrating digitisation as an essential component of future-oriented production using the Digital Manufacturing Package as an example.
Autonomous manufacturing solutions from a single source
As a pioneer in automated production, DMG MORI offers a total of 53 automation solutions across 12 product lines from a single source. The company will show four manufacturing solutions live in its showroom during EMO. For milling, one is the compact DMP 35 machining centre with the space-saving WH 3 Cell workpiece handling system. The DMU 65 H monoBLOCK with a PH Cell will also be on display. Its pallet handling system is of modular design and can accommodate different pallet sizes according to requirements. For turning, DMG MORI will show the flexible and easy-to-operate Robo2Go on the CLX 450 TC, a high-performance, entry-level turn-mill centre.
PAYZR:
Risk-free production with equipment-as-a-service and raised efficiency with software-as-a-service
“Subscription & All-In instead of investment and purchase” is DMG MORI’s formula for success with the new PAYZR business model for its equipment-as-a-service and software-as-a-service offerings. PAYZR stands for “PAY with Zero Risk” and was launched at the beginning of the year in the field of equipment-as-a-service with the compact M1 vertical machining centre. The compact, vertical machining centre has a stable, monolithic design, an inline spindle for speeds up to 12,000 rpm and an automatic tool changer. For a monthly basic fee, customers receive the machine and an all-round package for service and maintenance. In addition, a charge is made for the number of minutes the spindle runs.
The second machine DMG MORI has added to the PAYZR portfolio is the CLX 450 TC, which was introduced earlier this year. With a B-axis and equipped with a compactMASTER turn-mill spindle, the turning centre to be exhibited at EMO reduces set-up and non-productive times when producing small to medium size batches of a variety of components.
DMG MORI will present software-as-a-service with TULIP, ISTOS and WERKBLiQ. A new software addition is up2parts, which enables automated cycle time calculation and quotation on the basis of artificial intelligence, in seconds and with just a few clicks. This increases not only efficiency in work preparation but also the success rate in winning business, even when producing one-offs. up2parts calculation is based on a company-specific database, which interested parties and customers can use in full in the free product, up2parts cloud basic. With unlimited storage space, machines, materials, customers and components are stored centrally there, the latter as 3D models. A geometric similarity search automatically finds identical or similar components within a few seconds.
Process-safe manufacturing along a digitised value chain
DMG MORI is making a significant contribution to shaping digital transformation in manufacturing. The group supports its customers with future-oriented solutions for networking machine tools and digitisation of the value chain. Users can get off to an optimal start with the Digital Manufacturing Package. It includes DMG MORI Connectivity for networking DMG MORI machines and selected third-party makes, a PLC-independent update to the latest version of CELOS, and DMG MORI Messenger.
DMG MORI Monitoring shows the current status of all networked machines at a glance, on a PC as well as on mobile devices. The free my DMG MORI customer portal ensures end-to-end digital service processes for DMG MORI machines, while DMG MORI NETservice enables direct remote communication with DMG MORI Service, allowing many service cases to be solved quickly and easily.
World premiere NZ platform: DUE, TRE, QUATTRO – production turning with up to four turrets and four B-axes in a footprint of 17.8 m²
EMO will be the world premiere of the new NZ turning platform and DMG MORI will display the NZ TRE and NZ QUATTRO models. Available in two sizes, the machines redefine productivity and versatility in production turning.
The short version is designed for workpieces up to 690 mm in length, while the long version can accommodate parts up to 1,290 mm long. Chucking is possible on both machines up to a diameter of 120 mm, while bar up to 65 mm can be turned. The compact design means that the NZ including a 3-metre bar feeder requires only 17.8 m² of floor space.
A highlight of the NZ platform is the number equipment options, enabling a user to specify a manufacturing solution tailored to his or her exact requirements. Due to the modular machine concept, the machine is offered in NZ DUE, NZ TRE and NZ QUATTRO versions with two, three or four turrets. Each can act independently and has an 80 mm Y-axis travel and a B-axis swivel of -10 to +100 degrees.
