Ultimate flexibility with the G6 MT and smart machining technologies from AXILE

How do AXILE machine tools and smart machining technologies (SMTs) offer so much flexibility for customers? MTDCNC’s Eric Hulen and Joe Poulin of AXILE discuss SMTs and the leading 5-axis machine, the G6 MT. With built-in mill-turn technology, the 1,500 RPM G6 MT allows operational flexibility for great finishes on complicated parts. A balancing unit can be used with the machine to automatically rotate, calibrate, and measure weight distribution of odd-shaped components. Joe shares more on AXILE SMTs such as Spindle Vibration Supervision (SVS) that prevents spindle damage, Axial Accuracy Control (AAC) for real-time thermal compensation and accuracy, and Tool-tip Positioning Control (TPC) for better surface finishes and energy savings. In addition to pallet-change and tool carousel options, the G6 MT comes with a HEIDENHAIN control but can be custom built with a SIEMENS or FANUC control.
