NEXT-LEVEL MACHINING AT IMTS & AMB: DUAL-SPINDLE, MULTIPROCESS AND HIGH-VOLUME SOLUTIONS IN ACTION

Wednesday 8 July 2026, 3:33:58 PM

Kalmar, Sweden – Following the announcement of their joint participation at IMTS 2026 in Chicago and AMB 2026 in Stuttgart, MODIG, IBARMIA, and LiCON now reveal the technologies that will define their shared presence at both exhibitions. Together, the three machine tool builders will present a powerful showcase of machining excellence, combining high-speed productivity, multiprocess flexibility, and high-volume manufacturing solutions within one integrated exhibition concept.

Backed by more than 200 years of combined expertise and a shared commitment to advancing manufacturing productivity, the companies will demonstrate how complementary machine technologies, application knowledge, and strategic partnerships can help manufacturers reduce cycle times, optimize production, and increase competitiveness. Together, the Group represents more than 500 employees and over 100 in-house engineers, providing customers with a broad foundation of manufacturing expertise and innovation.

Visitors to IMTS and AMB will experience these technologies through live machining demonstrations running throughout the exhibitions. The presentations are designed to provide a direct view of process stability, production efficiency, and real-world manufacturing performance, highlighting how advanced machining technologies can address today’s production challenges.

Live Machining Highlights: Productivity in Action

At the center of the joint presentation are live machining solutions, each engineered to address key manufacturing challenges while demonstrating measurable productivity improvements in real manufacturing environments.

MODIG Mill-Ex2

A dual-spindle high-speed machining center developed for aluminum components in aerospace and automotive applications. Featuring independently driven spindles and axes, the system enables continuous machining with high dynamics, precise control, and exceptional flexibility. Designed to reduce cycle times, footprint, and cost per part, Mill-Ex2 delivers stable performance, optimized throughput, and efficient material removal while maintaining the accuracy required for complex aluminum structures.

IBARMIA T SERIES Multiprocess

A versatile range of 5-axis multitasking machining centers developed for medium and large, complex, high-value components. By combining milling, turning, drilling and other advanced processes in asingle setup, the T SERIES Multiprocess reduces part handling, machine transfers and non-productive time. Its flexible machine architecture combines powerful spindles, high-capacity rotary tables and a choice of A- or B-axis tilting heads, providing broad machining access and the power, precision and stability required for demanding applications. The result is a configurable multiprocess platform that enables manufacturers to complete a wider range of operations in fewer machines.

LiCON LiFLEX II 776 i³ PC

A twin-spindle machining center with pallet changer designed for high-volume production environments where precision, repeatability, and productivity are critical. At the heart of the machine is LiCON’s i³-technology, enabling independent compensation of both spindles across all three axis. Integrated sensors and intelligent algorithms actively compensate for thermal influences, ensuring maximum machining quality, high positioning accuracy, and stable production performance from the first part onward. The result is continuous, highly efficient manufacturing with consistent quality and maximum output. At IMTS, the machine will perform live machining demonstrations highlighting simultaneous machining and advanced multi-axis capabilities.

One Group, Complementary Strengths

The joint exhibition reflects the vision first introduced when MODIG, IBARMIA, and LiCON announced their coordinated participation at IMTS and AMB. Together, the three companies represent complementary expertise across the manufacturing spectrum, from high-speed aluminum machining and complex multiprocess applications to highly automated high-volume production.

Visitors will experience how these technologies, supported by application expertise and integrated manufacturing solutions, can reduce cycle times, simplify production flows, improve process reliability, and create measurable productivity gains in real-world manufacturing environments.

Offering Integrated Manufacturing Solutions in Cooperation with Seco Tools

A key element of the IMTS presentation is the collaboration with Seco Tools. By bringing together expertise in machine tools, cutting tools, and manufacturing processes, the partnership showcases a comprehensive approach to improving productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness.

The collaboration demonstrates how machine tool technology, tooling strategies, and application engineering can be aligned to deliver complete manufacturing solutions. By bringing together expertise from both organizations, visitors will gain insights into approaches that can reduce cycle times, improve process reliability, lower production costs, and unlock new levels of manufacturing performance.
