A planning application has been approved for the Gordon Murray Group to build a new global headquarters and technology campus in Windlesham, Surrey.

Surrey Council has approved the planning application, and the Ministry of Housing is in full support of the council’s decision to grant the new £50m campus which will be built on a 54-acre site, housing state-of-the-art facilities for vehicle design and advanced engineering. The 140,000sq/ft development will create 100 highly-skilled jobs.

Planning approval has paved the way for the three-year construction project to begin in June. The first phase will be completed by December 2022 and will be the first of three buildings, housing the manufacturing facility, servicing and a heritage vehicle display. A test track to check all vehicles coming off of the production line is also planned. Two further phases will follow with the site reaching completion by 2024.
