Engineering Firm Sparks Student Interest with Unique Workshop

Graham Engineering Ltd recently participated in the World at Work event held at Ss John Fisher and Thomas More Roman Catholic High School. The event aimed to inspire Year 7 students by introducing them to the diverse opportunities within the engineering field.

Ian Fraser, the Apprentice Training Coordinator for Graham Engineering, led an engaging workshop titled “Welding with Chocolate.” This hands-on activity was supported by the company’s apprentices and successfully captured the students’ attention, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm.

The workshop was praised by Lois Turner, Careers Guidance Officer at Education Business Partnership North West. She expressed appreciation for the company’s involvement and the meaningful impact of the engaging activity. Turner’s feedback highlighted the significance of such events in providing students with valuable insights into the engineering profession.
