NCMT Welcomes Young Talent on International Women in Engineering Day
In celebration of International Women in Engineering Day, NCMT has proudly introduced Ruby Jones as a new placement at their Coventry Technical Centre. Ruby, aged 17, is currently pursuing an engineering-focused T Level at WMG Academy for Young Engineers in Solihull.
Having joined WMG at 14, Ruby has shown a clear passion for engineering, and her placement at NCMT will allow her to gain invaluable first-hand experience. During her time with the company, Ruby will explore various aspects of the engineering sector, including high-technology machine tools, CNC machining, applications, service, and customer support.
Engineering offers more career paths than are often recognised, encompassing roles that are technical, practical, creative, commercial, or project-based. With modern educational frameworks such as T Levels, students now have the advantage of gaining classroom knowledge alongside workplace experience. This initiative is encouraging more young women, like Ruby, to begin exploring careers in engineering at an early stage.
Outside her academic pursuits, Ruby enjoys spending time with her dogs, reflecting a well-rounded life beyond her budding engineering career. NCMT expresses enthusiasm for welcoming Ruby and hopes this experience will provide her with valuable insights into the numerous opportunities within the engineering industry.
WMG Academy Trust plays a significant role in shaping future engineers and innovators, ensuring that students like Ruby can gain a comprehensive understanding of the field.
